Autoría, multilingüismo y traducción en las relaciones festivas italianas para la boda de María Luisa de Orleans (María Luisa de Borbón) y Carlos II = Authorship, Multilingualism, and Translation in Italian Festive Accounts for the Wedding of Marie Louise of Orléans and Charles II

This study explores the linguistic and literary dimensions of a selection of works concerning the wedding of Charles II and Marie Louise of Bourbon published in Italy. In particular, it examines Tributi ossequiosi by Giuseppe Castaldi (Naples, 1680), a volume distinguished by its refined engravings and emblems accompanied by mottos in Latin or Spanish, and Le guerre festive by Pietro Maggio (Palermo, 1680), which, in addition to describing the celebrations, brings to- gether thirty-six poems in Italian and Latin, as well as a multilingual insert in five languages. Furthermore, following an analysis of other epithalamic accounts and pamphlets preserved in the University Library of Bologna, the study turns to an un- usual example of translation in which the verses of the original are fully retained: the Relazione o descrizione veritiera e puntuale del reale, maestoso e publico ingresso, che fece la regina nostra signora D. Maria Luisa di Borbone dal real luogo del Ritiro, published in Bologna.
