The paper presents a brief review of the operation of multiphase converters controlled by algorithms of synchronized pulse width modulation (PWM). Basic peculiarities of space-vector-based method of synchronized PWM have been described. Examples of dissemination of this new method are presented for the control of: a) five-phase inverters controlled at both under-modulation and over-modulation ranges; b) six-phase inverters for drive system with symmetrical six-phase induction machine, and c) six-phase inverters for asymmetrical six-phase motor drive. It has been shown, that the proposed PWM method provides continuous output voltage synchronization for any operating conditions of power conversion systems.

Abstract
The paper presents a brief review of the operation of multiphase converters controlled by algorithms of synchronized pulse width modulation (PWM). Basic peculiarities of space-vector-based method of synchronized PWM have been described. Examples of dissemination of this new method are presented for the control of: a) five-phase inverters controlled at both under-modulation and over-modulation ranges; b) six-phase inverters for drive system with symmetrical six-phase induction machine, and c) six-phase inverters for asymmetrical six-phase motor drive. It has been shown, that the proposed PWM method provides continuous output voltage synchronization for any operating conditions of power conversion systems.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
