The research program of the University of Bologna aims to contextualize the historical evolution of Butrint within its maritime environment, primarily through an overall study, both on land and underwater, of the coastal and lagoon landscape, thus analyzing the port system over time. The program also includes ethnographic studies of the fishing boats used in the lagoon.
