Dalla famiglia alle famiglie: mezzo secolo del diritto italiano

The text is an excerpt from the report presented at the ONDiF Forum in October 2025 and offers an interesting perspective on the evolution of fam- ily law in Italy. It traces a path from the Civil Code of 1942 to the most recent amendments to the Code of Civil Procedure, regarding the unification of procedures for the protection of the rights of individuals, families, and minors. The essay highlights the most significant legislative steps, pri- marily influenced by social and cultural changes. Over the past fifty years, the family landscape has transformed, shifting the focus from the cen- trality of marriage to the enhancement of children’s rights. According to the author, a forecast for the future should be the adoption of regulations that organically and coherently standardize, within the civil code, the discipline of personal protections.
