In the development of policies affecting the agricultural sector, there is a growing awareness that the risk of adverse climatic events is a systemic condition, mainly due to a technical-administrative approach centered on technical fix solutions. In particular, there is a trend toward systematically entrusting risk management to insurance companies. This paper analyses the National Mutual Fund “AgriCat” to investigate the role of the actors in the construction of the dispositif, the role of financialisation in defining enhancement processes in the agribusiness sector, and the relationship between these crises and the adaptation of practices in the field. The paper also aims to define the operational modalities of public actors and European policies in shaping risk management strategies, by analyzing the paradigm within which these are situated and their potential openness to alternative risk management attempts, such as adaptation, prevention, or conversion of agricultural models.

Abstract
In the development of policies affecting the agricultural sector, there is a growing awareness that the risk of adverse climatic events is a systemic condition, mainly due to a technical-administrative approach centered on technical fix solutions. In particular, there is a trend toward systematically entrusting risk management to insurance companies. This paper analyses the National Mutual Fund “AgriCat” to investigate the role of the actors in the construction of the dispositif, the role of financialisation in defining enhancement processes in the agribusiness sector, and the relationship between these crises and the adaptation of practices in the field. The paper also aims to define the operational modalities of public actors and European policies in shaping risk management strategies, by analyzing the paradigm within which these are situated and their potential openness to alternative risk management attempts, such as adaptation, prevention, or conversion of agricultural models.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
