Memoria civica e spazi forensi nella Cisalpina: i casi di Ueleia e Ariminum

The paper proposes an analysis of the rich epigraphic documentation, entirely dating back to the imperial period, pertaining to the fora of two cities of regio VIII: Veleia and Ariminum. In the former case, manifestations of loyalty to the domus Augusta prevail, whereas in the latter case testimonies of both individuals and family groups actively involved in municipal life but also in the imperial bureaucratic and military apparatus are abundant. In particular, it is possible to reconstruct the social advancement of some families, that saw the forum as the ideal place where the memory of their achievements could be preserved.
