This essay examines Jewish–Christian relations in the Duchy of Parma, Piacenza, and Guastalla in the mid-eighteenth century. It focuses on a case brought before the Roman Inquisition involving two Jewish brothers and the Christian women with whom they were alleged to have maintained illicit relationships. Drawing on a wide range of local, ecclesiastical, and secular archival sources, the study reconstructs the dynamics of the case and situates it within the broader social, legal, and confessional context of the period.
