The optimization of Italian Courts through the e-dossier: the Court of Cuneo

This paper offers a framework for telematizing the dossier by integrat- ing Business Process Management and Simulation into Civil court proceedings. As delays and backlogs have long been an issue in Italian courts, the electronic dossier is one possible solution to speed up court proceedings. The paper dossier is the starting point while the goal is to have a fully functional implemented e- dossier. It is also fundamental to maintaining a high level of court efficiency while introducing the e-dossier into the Civil court proceedings. The paper cen- ters on the court of Cuneo’s exemplary case to determine what advancements and modifications have been introduced by the telematization of dossiers from the Labour and Litigation section. The analysis is conducted through Process Anal- ysis and Process Reorganization Models.
