This paper explores the end of villae in Late Antiquity by examining the emergence of new productive installations within domestic and residential spaces, which are interpreted as indicative of lifestyle changes. The study primarily relies on archaeological evidence concerning glass processing and recycling found in selected villae across the Italian peninsula, as well as in Mediterranean and continental Europe. Despite the challenges often encountered in interpreting these remains and artifacts, the correlation between villae and glass workshops prompts reflection on the functional relationship between preexisting and newly established structures, as well as on artisans’ work organization and product markets.
