Two archaeological research projects working in Tharros and supported by Alma Scavi fit into the path of the tradition of studies and research carried out in Tharros by E. Acquaro since the 1970s. These are the project aimed at the discovery of the site of the archaic colonial settlement in the urban area, and the excavation in the large artisanal district for the production of ceramics, especially transport amphorae, located along the isthmus “Sa Codriola”, to be considered as the suburban periphery of Tharros. The goal of the investigations is to arrive at a comprehensive knowledge of the dynamics of population and functional occupation of the different sectors of the Tharros’ area, in order to reconstruct with increasing amounts of data, the daily life of the Punic community.

Abstract
Two archaeological research projects working in Tharros and supported by Alma Scavi fit into the path of the tradition of studies and research carried out in Tharros by E. Acquaro since the 1970s. These are the project aimed at the discovery of the site of the archaic colonial settlement in the urban area, and the excavation in the large artisanal district for the production of ceramics, especially transport amphorae, located along the isthmus “Sa Codriola”, to be considered as the suburban periphery of Tharros. The goal of the investigations is to arrive at a comprehensive knowledge of the dynamics of population and functional occupation of the different sectors of the Tharros’ area, in order to reconstruct with increasing amounts of data, the daily life of the Punic community.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
