Accessibility is a fundamental right for all citizens and is crucial for people with disabilities to participate fully in society and the workforce. Unfortunately, imposing accessibility by law is insufficient, considering many websites still present relevant accessibility issues. Moreover, there is a lack of culture about accessibility, even among designers and developers. In this context, we evaluate the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs) in accessibility auditing and HTML validation. We also discuss how these tools can support developers in building correct and accessible websites.

Abstract
Accessibility is a fundamental right for all citizens and is crucial for people with disabilities to participate fully in society and the workforce. Unfortunately, imposing accessibility by law is insufficient, considering many websites still present relevant accessibility issues. Moreover, there is a lack of culture about accessibility, even among designers and developers. In this context, we evaluate the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs) in accessibility auditing and HTML validation. We also discuss how these tools can support developers in building correct and accessible websites.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
