L’articolazione politica tra giustizia climatica e transizione giusta

This contribution focuses on examining the concepts of climate justice (CJ) and just transition (JT), critically analysing the evolution of their roles and meanings within transnational environmental governance institutions, as well as within environmental and trade union movements. By analysing their origins, we aim to capture the dynamics of their growing political articulation, which was triggered by a process of radicalisation beginning with the 2019 climate strikes. This convergence is underpinned by a new understanding of the relationship between the environmental and social dimensions of the climate crisis. This new understanding sees the democratisation of society as essential to addressing the ecological transition. However, the current complex war scenario is jeopardising the transformative potential of climate policy.
