The essay deals with UN Security Council (SC) resolution 2601 (2021) providing some recommendations in order to guarantee the right to education for children during armed conflicts. It is argued that such a resolution has been enacted under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, rather than Chapter VI, and that it includes provisional measures under art. 40 of the Charter itself. Its main operational limits are pointed out too, with reference to the lack of innovation in respect of several well-established provisions of international humanitarian law and to its general – and generic – character. Some reflections are moreover developed on the effectiveness of the measures recommended throughout the aforementioned resolution. These considerations are carried on in the light of the concept of «peace» emerging from the UN Charter, which consists not only in the lack of armed conflicts, but also in favouring every feature of a truly peaceful world (protection of human rights, defence of the environment, guarantee of self-determination of peoples, economic international cooperation, etc.).

Abstract
These considerations are carried on in the light of the concept of «peace» emerging from the UN Charter, which consists not only in the lack of armed conflicts, but also in favouring every feature of a truly peaceful world (protection of human rights, defence of the environment, guarantee of self-determination of peoples, economic international cooperation, etc.).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
