As difficult heritage, the mosaics of the Casa del Mutilato di Ravenna, with their signs and symbols, are represented by the Tessere del '900 Cultural Association in the digital environment, depicting periods, characters and regimes, with elements from Ancient Rome to Fascist Italy. The question is how and if digital representations materialize the dissonant dimensions of heritage of this nature. The aim is therefore to think about difficult heritage through its dissonance, considering the digital representations of mosaics. Specifically, it discusses the dissonance dimensions of these representatives in the light of contact zones - institutionality, interpretation, appropriation and (re)negotiation - through the assumptions of the sociocultural approaches of Knowledge Organization and Representation (KOR). From the point of view of difficult heritage, the sociocultural approaches of ORC are presented across the dissonant dimensions. As a result, the analysis highlights the predominance of technical and hegemonic descriptions, without exploring the potential made possible by digital environments. In dialog with the ideas of Walter Benjamin, it addresses tensions between heritage regimes and hegemonic practices. Based on central axes, a critique of institutional neutrality and cultural hegemony is presented, highlighting the dynamics of interpretation and appropriation, the limits of digital renegotiation and the potential of collaborative representations. It concludes that the digital representations of the five mosaic panels, with their technical, objective and supposedly neutral descriptions, do not allow us to capture the complex universe of symbolic, evaluative elements and games of interest and power, i.e. socio-cultural, of these difficult heritage sites in their dissonance.

Abstract
It concludes that the digital representations of the five mosaic panels, with their technical, objective and supposedly neutral descriptions, do not allow us to capture the complex universe of symbolic, evaluative elements and games of interest and power, i.e. socio-cultural, of these difficult heritage sites in their dissonance.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
