COMO SE RECONHECE A SEMIÓTICA COGNITIVA? UMA VIRADA MATERIAL ENTRE ENUNCIAÇÃO, NICHOS SEMIÓTICOS E VOZES DO ANTROPOCENO

This article outlines the framework for a new cognitive semiotics – a comprehensive proposal for a material turn in semiotic studies that builds upon Umberto Eco’s legacy. After defining the field of study of this approach to semiotic inquiry, we identify its three main distinctive features: radical enactivism, pragmatism, and the theory of material engagement. By revisiting the process of sense-making as an opportunity to rethink enunciation, the article develops a theoretical framework for analyzing the environment as a world of meaning articulated in encyclopedic fragments, woven by the thousand voices of the Anthropocene.
