This paper focuses on the different powered descent and landing studies in atmosphere performed to formulate the landing guidance problem for the CALLISTO vehicle, a technological demonstrator jointly developed by DLR, JAXA, and CNES. By formulating and solving different optimal control problems we critically compare the results to come up with a satisfactory trade-off that balances performance and safety concerns.

Abstract
This paper focuses on the different powered descent and landing studies in atmosphere performed to formulate the landing guidance problem for the CALLISTO vehicle, a technological demonstrator jointly developed by DLR, JAXA, and CNES. By formulating and solving different optimal control problems we critically compare the results to come up with a satisfactory trade-off that balances performance and safety concerns.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
