This retrospective review evaluates the safety and efficacy of endoscopic injection of Histoacryl for treating bleeding gastric varices. Among 24 patients studied, an immediate hemostasis rate of 95.8% was achieved, with recurrent bleeding occurring in 37.5%. Definitive hemostasis was achieved in 70.8% of cases, while serious adverse events were noted in two patients, underlining the need for caution despite high effectiveness. Additionally, the study highlights the feasibility of using a new multiple band ligator for endoscopic ligation of oesophago-gastric varices, demonstrating preliminary technical success but indicating a high rebleeding rate and need for further management.

Abstract
This retrospective review evaluates the safety and efficacy of endoscopic injection of Histoacryl for treating bleeding gastric varices. Among 24 patients studied, an immediate hemostasis rate of 95.8% was achieved, with recurrent bleeding occurring in 37.5%. Definitive hemostasis was achieved in 70.8% of cases, while serious adverse events were noted in two patients, underlining the need for caution despite high effectiveness. Additionally, the study highlights the feasibility of using a new multiple band ligator for endoscopic ligation of oesophago-gastric varices, demonstrating preliminary technical success but indicating a high rebleeding rate and need for further management.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
