L'avvio dell'industria del forestiero: gli anni pionieristici dello sviluppo del turismo a Cervia

Touristic Industry was implanted in Cervia in the late Nineteenth century after the construction of the first seaside resort in 1882 and the opening of the railway Ravenna-Rimini in 1884, so the pioneering development could start. After several years the first villino on the shore was built, but the cervese administration implemented Urban Planning regulations to urbanize the shore only after 1905. This important document condensed the experience made during the previous decades and it was fundamental to make Cervia attractive to the rich milanese bourgeoisie which would build Milano Marittima. Tourism would have a major impact on the traditional subsistence economy so an analysis of the link between those two industries was strictly necessary.
