Luigi Rava was one of the most influential Ravennate politician in the late-liberal Italy. His political thought, based on the development of social legislation in order to involve the Labour Class in the liberal-democratic institution, identifies him as a progressive liberal. Therefore, the support given to Mussolini in October 1922 and the subsequent adhesion to Fascism need a deeper research in his private documents stored in Classense Library in Ravenna. Rava switched from a democratic and liberal position to an authoritarian one during the difficult post war period in which his political project failed due to the radicalization and polarization of political struggle. Rava saw in Mussolini the one who could fix the situation, but the further adhesion to the Regime was not a matter of public order and internal policy like social legislation because Mussolini betrayed Rava’s aspiration. Its reason has to be researched, instead, in the foreign policy of the regime and in the myth of Nation.

Abstract
Its reason has to be researched, instead, in the foreign policy of the regime and in the myth of Nation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
