This article aims to propose a triangulation between Attic tragedy, the play Il verdetto (2007) by Valeria Parrella, and contemporary reflections on the female condition, feminist political and philosophical theories, matriarchy, and gender studies, specifically examining the mythical figure of Clytemnestra and other women (Medea and Deianira): betrayed and jealous wives. The investigation focuses on the social construction of female identity and the constraints imposed by social norms, particularly in relation to women as mothers and wives. In a criminal story, references to blood are inevitable, yet they are also exploited for various characterizations of the female figure.

Abstract
This article aims to propose a triangulation between Attic tragedy, the play Il verdetto (2007) by Valeria Parrella, and contemporary reflections on the female condition, feminist political and philosophical theories, matriarchy, and gender studies, specifically examining the mythical figure of Clytemnestra and other women (Medea and Deianira): betrayed and jealous wives. The investigation focuses on the social construction of female identity and the constraints imposed by social norms, particularly in relation to women as mothers and wives. In a criminal story, references to blood are inevitable, yet they are also exploited for various characterizations of the female figure.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
