Abstract
Railway stations in medium and small cities, episodically the subject of redevelopment, are in many cases in a precarious state of preservation. They are elements of caesura between parts of the city, in areas that are often de-qualified and lacking in attractiveness. However, they present interesting prospects for re-functionalization as integrated mobility hubs to promote the development of sustainable forms of intermodality at the city scale. Medium-sized cities constitute an interesting field of experimentation, as they are characterized by urban contexts that are not excessively large and can be approached as “15-minute city” models, i.e., that favor the use of citizen services with easy modes of travel and reduced timeframes. In the scenario of urban strategies oriented to Transit-Oriented Community (TOC) references, which enhance the relationship between urban planning and sustainable connection potential, Mobility Hubs by considering flexible and intermodal modes of transit: pedestrian, bicycle, micro-mobility sharing, bus and rail.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
