This work proposes a novel method for target localization based on Time-Modulated Arrays. The real-time control of the unparalleled multi-harmonic patterns is of strategic importance and allows to build a unique correspondence between observation direction and harmonics power levels. Two localization algorithms based on the power ratio between the first-order harmonic and the carrier frequency are presented. A radial multi-spoke array at 2.45 GHz has been used as time-modulated radiator for this purpose. The numerical analysis is supported by measurements results that validate the effectiveness of the time modulated array technology for localization purposes.
