La cura pastorale del personale civile della Presidenza della Repubblica Italiana: dal clero palatino alla piena realizzazione dell'ecclesiologia conciliare

Among the faithful under the jurisdiction of the military ordinary in Italy, according to some views, civilian personnel of the Presidency of the Republic should also be included: an affiliation that, although evidently eccentric with respect to its raison d'être, is still advocated by some in the name of an alleged continuity between the ordinariate and that 'palatine clergy' formerly entrusted with the spiritual care of the sovereign and his court. To assess the validity of such a reconstruction, however, an analysis through the lens of Canon Law cannot be avoided, which must be conducted in light of the characteristics that define the mission and organization of the military ordinariate, all within the indispensable framework established by conciliar ecclesiology. Both the former and the latter, in the end, prove to be not only misaligned with such an interpretation, but entirely incompatible with it.

Tra i fedeli sottoposti alla giurisdizione dell'ordinario militare in Italia, secondo alcune interpretazioni, dovrebbe contarsi anche il personale civile della Presidenza della Repubblica: un'appartenenza evidentemente eccentrica rispetto alla sua ragion d'essere, eppure da taluni perorata in nome di una pretesa continuità tra l'ordinariato e quel 'clero palatino' in passato incaricato della cura spirituale del sovrano e della sua corte. Per valutarne la tenuta, tuttavia, una tale ricostruzione non può sottrarsi a un vaglio eminentemente canonistico, il quale deve essere condotto alla luce delle caratteristiche che definiscono la missione e l'organizzazione dell'ordinariato castrense, poste nell'imprescindibile cornice disegnata dall'ecclesiologia conciliare. Tanto le une quanto l'altra finiscono così per mostrarsi, rispetto a una simile lettura, non solo disallineate, ma del tutto incompatibili.
