Giuseppe Albini dantista: le Egloge e il carteggio con Barbi

Giuseppe Albini’s career was distingushed by his decades-long contribution to Dante studies, which led to the first critical edition with commentary of Dante’s Eclogues. By analysing the materials preserved in the “Fondo Albini” of the “Ezio Raimondi” Library (University of Bologna), this paper aims to offer a first overview of Albini’s activities in Dante studies field, clarifying his itineraries, and illustrating the most prominent results. Specifically investigated will be the events related to the edition of the Eclogues and the relationships that Albini established with the leading scholars of the early twentieth century: Parodi, Novati, Pistelli, and Michele Barbi.
