This issue of de genere explores the theoretical and political configurations emerging at the convergence of critical ecofeminism and intersectional ecologies, unsettling the limits of an essentialist woman-nature bond. The collected essays are situated at the crossroads of feminist, queer, posthumanist, and post/decolonial theories in ongoing dialogue with environmental thought. Such an approach allows to highlight how today’s ecological crises are mutually constituted by other systems of domination, including heteropatriarchy, racial capitalism, extractivism, and speciesism. Positioned within the interdisciplinary field of the Environmental Humanities, the issue embraces a transmedia approach that moves across literary texts, cinema, visual arts, and performative practices to explore how cultural forms construct ecological imaginaries and articulate alternative epistemologies.
