Abstract Between neighborhood effect and cultural welfare. The case of the Lunetta neighborhood in Mantua The article aims to present a specific case of urban regeneration that was carried out over subsequent phases in the Lunetta neighborhood of Mantova starting from 2016. The case study is situated within a conceptual framework that integrates elements of the discourse surrounding neighborhood effects in poor areas with aspects related to cultural welfare. By emphasizing the complementarity of structural and cultural dimensions, it highlights how a predominantly cultural urban regeneration initiative, such as Without Frontiers: Lunetta in Colors, can generate a change in the representation and image of the neighborhood among its residents. Additionally, it can alleviate collective social isolation, thereby fostering the development of territorial social capital that can be understood in terms of cultural welfare.
