Il Valle de los Caídos tra decostruzione e ricostruzione della memoria

Valle de los Caídos between deconstruction and rebuilding of memory – This paper provides a thorough examination of the legal status of the so-called “Valle de los Caídos” in Spain in the framework of the national and comparative management of historical memory. It explains the historical, architectural and symbolic components of the monument, as well as diachronically the distinct legal regimes applicable to the area. It focuses on the current process of resignification of the Valle, within the application of the 2022 law, examining public debates and political preferences.
