The paper proposes an analysis of the phenomenon of the presence of the Augustae on milestones from both a dia-chronic and a geographic distribution perspective. Special attention will be paid, on the one hand, to the promoters of the erection of the monuments and the possible reasons underlying the initiative from time to time, and, on the other hand, to the titles with which these women were honored.
