This contribution delves into the themes of accessibility and inclusivity within early childhood education services (zero to six years), with particular reference to children with visual impairments. After describing the ways in which these children experience the world and the physical, relational, and cultural barriers they may encounter in educational settings, the discussion reflects on strategies for designing welcoming and motivating environments that value individual differences and promote equitable opportunities for participation. Emphasis is placed on the need to conceive innovative and multisensory learning experiences, recognizing the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as a theoretical and practical framework capable of transforming ‘specialized’ responses into ‘ordinary’ educational practices, respectful of the diverse ways children explore, understand, and interpret the world. Finally, attention is drawn to the importance of training future educators to foster reflexivity and awareness regarding the value of accessibility, as well as the need to rethink educational and didactic practices through a pluralistic and genuinely participatory lens.

Abstract
Finally, attention is drawn to the importance of training future educators to foster reflexivity and awareness regarding the value of accessibility, as well as the need to rethink educational and didactic practices through a pluralistic and genuinely participatory lens.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
