Ancora su Origene scrittore. Una nota sulla prosopopea nell'Omelia sul Salmo 74

The paper investigates the style of Origen’s newly discovered Homilies on the Psalms, focusing on the technique of prosopopoeia, a rhetorical tool widespread in Origen’s previously known corpus. Origen’s Homily on Psalm 74 contains many examples of prosopopoeia, where the Savior speaks in the first person, thus serving as a good case study. The analysis focuses on the literary construction of the fictional discourses and the purposes they serve within the homily. The evaluation of prosopopoeia provides an opportunity, in the conclusion, to propose some more general observations on Origen as a writer and preacher.
