Objectives For some time it has been saying in our country a new kind of tourism related to the horse, the horse trails. Technically this can be defined as a transit route on horseback, on dirt paths through interesting places in terms of landscape, culture, food etc.. Unfortunately many of these paths are the result of impromptu design, limited to simple interconnection paths and roads in accordance with the logic of the single link between two locations without taking into due account the particular needs of horse and rider. This work aims to study the specificity of horse trails, studying the technical and functional. Abstract

At the same time be identified essential services of horse-rider combination to qualify the receptivity of the path of horse trails Methods To achieve this it is deemed appropriate by step through a detailed design process which will then be limited to: 1. Cartographic analysis on different scale levels in order to identify, where possible, routes and trails already in place for dealing with their connection to define a path between the maximum point of origin and arrival. 2. Individuation of parking areas, drinking water, relief. 3. Study of the characteristics of the circuit through the calculation of and partial or total distance gradient maximum slope, average inclination of the slopes width of the runway characteristics of the bottom of the track presence of fords 4. Study of signaling path defined by the canons of formal warning signs, obligation, prohibition and indication. 5. Localization of specific signs. 6. The location of the stage and staging points for horses and riders 7. Design troughs, paddocks and fixed structures and furniture for the housing of horses Results The solutions in this work and identified key guidelines to follow in the design schematic and bridleways, and although not comprehensive, they want to be a contribution to the development of an industry is young but fast growing in a complex world where farming and fully enjoy the horse. The development of the theme leads to some conclusions on some important aspects dotted points: or the design of horse trails has to balance different needs, logistics, tourism, social implications for the achievement such road structure
