The coastal area of southern Albania represents an extraordinary combination of natural, cultural, and economic resources that, to be understood and safeguarded, requires the use of tools for the analysis and reconstruction of the ancient landscape, taking into account not only archaeological data but also environmental aspects. Research conducted in recent decades has revealed a rich archaeological heritage shedding light on the complex cultural, commercial, and environmental interactions that have characterized the coastal-inland relationship over the centuries. The intervention considers the case study of Saranda, a coastal center with a rich and diverse history, which currently grapples with the intensification of construction expansion at the expense of both archaeological and environmental heritage. The objective is to highlight the benefits arising from a multidisciplinary approach based on the integration of new technologies and traditional methods, with a focus on the contribution that specific types of supports, such as archival documentation and historical photography, can offer to archaeological research, especially in scenarios heavily impacted by modern overlays.

Abstract
The objective is to highlight the benefits arising from a multidisciplinary approach based on the integration of new technologies and traditional methods, with a focus on the contribution that specific types of supports, such as archival documentation and historical photography, can offer to archaeological research, especially in scenarios heavily impacted by modern overlays.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
