The purpose of this essay is to focus on EU citizenship’s transformative impact over national ones. It looks at the capacity of EU citizenship to evolve and modify national citizenship laws by interacting with them. This is done by looking at three domains and conceptual dimensions: citizenships as bundles of rights, as status, as elements of identity.
