L'inquietudine dell'esistenza e l'assenza di Dio. Heidegger, Ruggenini e l'esperienza cristiana

This essay examines the relationship between human existence and the dimension of the divine, focusing first on the interpretation of Christian experience proposed by Martin Heidegger in the Freiburg courses collected in the volume "Phenomenology of Religious Life". In particular, I analyze some fundamental points of Heidegger's reading of Paul and Augustine, in which the restlessness of Christian life is emphasized. Then, I make a comparison with the hermeneutic conception developed by Mario Ruggenini, for whom Heidegger himself is an essential interlocutor. More specifically, I examine the theoretical proposal advanced by Ruggenini, according to which existence is constitutively related to an alterity that is delineated as the absence of God. Finally, I point out that in both perspectives there is a risk of losing an essential feature of religious experience, represented by faith as trust.
