A homogenisation procedure of capacitor-based energy storage devices is described with the aim of calculating their shielding effectiveness to the electromagnetic waves when they are installed inside building walls. The capacitors of the individual modules have a multilayered structure, in which the layers have very small thicknesses. Therefore, an analytical method based on multi-section transmission lines has been applied, establishing an analytical fast and consistent methodology that leads to a straightforward evaluation of the shielding capabilities.

Abstract
A homogenisation procedure of capacitor-based energy storage devices is described with the aim of calculating their shielding effectiveness to the electromagnetic waves when they are installed inside building walls. The capacitors of the individual modules have a multilayered structure, in which the layers have very small thicknesses. Therefore, an analytical method based on multi-section transmission lines has been applied, establishing an analytical fast and consistent methodology that leads to a straightforward evaluation of the shielding capabilities.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
