A preamplification system based on concatenated linear and nonlinear preamplification for ϕ-OTDR sensing is presented to couneract signal fading. The evaluation shows that in the Rayleigh Backscattering trace minimum and average intensities are improved by 170% and 70% respectively, improving the SNR for small signals.
