By using the concept of home as a heuristic device, this research explores the spaces of belonging of three generations of Kurdish-Alevi women who originated from Northern Kur-distan and migrated to Germany for economic (and political) reasons. The main aim of this research is to analyze, revealing ambivalences and (dis)continuities, how narratives of ‘homemaking’, sense of belonging and ethnic identity are influenced by personal and socio-structural factors and affect the practices of homemaking in the diaspora, how women cope and convey them to the next generations.
