This essay aims to analyse three recent Italian poetry books (Alessandra Carnaroli’s Ex voto, 2017; Fabio Orecchini’s Figura, 2019; Andrea Inglese’s Ollivud, 2018) as case studies in order to show the application of several visual art practices to poetic texts, both on a thematic and stylistic level. The relation between contemporary Italian poetry and visual culture will be explored involving both some literary criticism theories and some fun-damental assumptions related to Bildwissenschaft and visual culture studies.
