Actio/agere nei commenti modisti al Liber sex principiorum di fine XIII secolo This article aims to provide, first of all, a preliminary mapping of the problems about actio discussed around the anonymous Liber sex principiorum in the commentaries of the late 13th-Century. This preliminary mapping allows us to note that the main interest of the commentators focuses on ontological and semantic problems, linked to the interpretation of the text and also with reference to Aristotle’s works (such as Physica and Metaphysica), not fully available at the time of the composition of the Liber. It also highlights a lively debate on the ontological status of specular images, involving medieval optics, and finally allows us to clarify perhaps a key point of the modist approach to the analysis of language, namely the ontological status of the modi essendi, assumed as the foundation of both speculative grammar and logic.

Abstract
Actio/agere nei commenti modisti al Liber sex principiorum di fine XIII secolo This article aims to provide, first of all, a preliminary mapping of the problems about actio discussed around the anonymous Liber sex principiorum in the commentaries of the late 13th-Century. This preliminary mapping allows us to note that the main interest of the commentators focuses on ontological and semantic problems, linked to the interpretation of the text and also with reference to Aristotle’s works (such as Physica and Metaphysica), not fully available at the time of the composition of the Liber. It also highlights a lively debate on the ontological status of specular images, involving medieval optics, and finally allows us to clarify perhaps a key point of the modist approach to the analysis of language, namely the ontological status of the modi essendi, assumed as the foundation of both speculative grammar and logic.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
