In recent decades, significant advancements in oncological treatments, technology, survivorship rates, screening behaviors, and healthcare support services have occurred. Yet, there has been minimal research on the architectural design of spaces where these processes occur, their characteristics, evolution, and adaptation; this makes it difficult to understand how it impacts healthcare provision and reception. This systematic review aims to explore the impact of cancer-dedicated infrastructure (CDI) on user outcomes, identify key variables, and emphasize the importance of the care environment. Our literature review on this association identified 13 relevant articles. However, increasing interest suggests opportunities for exploration. Findings indicate that architectural characteristics, spatial features, and physical elements influence patient health outcomes and users’ performance. However, generalizability is constrained by the early stage of spatial analysis and sparse evidence. This review underscores the untapped potential of studying CDI architecture and integrating it as a variable to enhance the overall healthcare experience.
