This article is a preliminary study on MS α. W. 5. 19 (Modena, Estense University Library), which is a thirteenth century-manuscript in Sephardic script including a Judeo-Arabic copy of Isaac Israeli’s Kitāb al-Hummayāt (Book on Fevers). The comparative analysis between a note of ownership in this manuscript and another note in MS Or. Qu. 812 (Berlin, State Library) shows that the first manuscript belonged to Jacob Mantino, whose interest in this book can be explained by virtue of his academic teaching of practical medicine, his studies in Arabic, and the philosophical content included in Israeli’s work.

Abstract
This article is a preliminary study on MS α. W. 5. 19 (Modena, Estense University Library), which is a thirteenth century-manuscript in Sephardic script including a Judeo-Arabic copy of Isaac Israeli’s Kitāb al-Hummayāt (Book on Fevers). The comparative analysis between a note of ownership in this manuscript and another note in MS Or. Qu. 812 (Berlin, State Library) shows that the first manuscript belonged to Jacob Mantino, whose interest in this book can be explained by virtue of his academic teaching of practical medicine, his studies in Arabic, and the philosophical content included in Israeli’s work.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
