Earth observations (EO) from space promise to support the achievement of several sustainable development goals (SDG). Such an objective is at the core of one out of nine spokes of the multidisciplinary project "Space It Up!", funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research and the Italian Space Agency. Indeed, Spoke 7 (titled "Space for the sustainable development of the planet") aims at developing EO solutions with breakthrough potential for fostering the achievement of heterogeneous SDGs, from the environmental to economical and legal aspects. Eighteen partners are involved, including national research institutions, universities, research foundations, large and small-medium enterprises. Four work packages are envisaged: Resilience to extremes; Sustainable water and food; Zero emission society; Sustainable economic growth. Activities started in summer 2024 and will last for three years. This presentation will briefly introduce the aims and structure of "Space It Up!" and Spoke 7, describing the overarching principles, the planned activities, and the innovation potential in light of the addressed SDGs.

Abstract
This presentation will briefly introduce the aims and structure of "Space It Up!" and Spoke 7, describing the overarching principles, the planned activities, and the innovation potential in light of the addressed SDGs.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
