The study focuses on the relationship between colours and architecture in Hellenistic times in Sicily. In particular, in the House IIIM in Agrigento (end of III B.C.-II A.D.) there are different types of stucco cornices and wall paintings that imitate real architecture. Therefore, the main questions concern the meanings of colours, shapes and light in decoration and their potential role as visual communication: did red, black-grey-blue, and white represent a colour code for something real?
