The present paper illustrates the first results of a recent project aiming the description of the Attilio Milano fund preserved at the Biblioteca Archivio “Renato Maestro” (Venice). The large and complex investigation, which is here partially anticipated, involves also the selection of letters sent by our author to some of the greatest experts on Italian and International Jewish history who helped him write his uncompleted book La Nazione Ebrea di Livorno. I quickly retrace the genesis of his unpublished work by reading the most important letters on the Labronic topic. A draft of the volume index and a translation of two letters are included.
