Eraclea Minoa, near Agrigento, is an important observatory for understanding the forms of private residential buildings during the late Hellenistic period, especially, for the phases of painted decoration. The historical events that affected the city created an archaeological deposit of high documentary value. Likewise, due to the different forces that ruled the city, the forms of decoration shed light on cultural convergences and on the ways of private self-representation. The study aims to understand the plaster and stucco decoration of the Hellenistic dwellings. Some new acquisitions from the old depots, as well as the investigations carried out since 1952, allow us to attempt to recompose a still excessively fragmented context.
