L’intelligenza artificiale nello sport professionistico: tra principi etici, Gdpr e regole di responsabilità

The article analyzes the main legal issues regarding the application of AI systems in professional sports. In the case of artificial intelligence systems applied to sports, there is indeed a predominantly automated processing of a substantial amount of personal and health data, as well as information derived inferentially from them, which could sometimes be subject to circulation and use even in favor of subjects outside the sports system (such as sports betting companies or provi- ders of software for sports games and fantasy games). For this reason, a delicate balance of relevant rights and interests in the specific case, as well as a more general inquiry into the legal basis of the processing, becomes necessary.
