Starting from 2020, the University of Bologna began excavating the site where Cervia Vecchia. During the three excavation campaigns (2020-2022) and the 2019 survey, around 340 coins and coin-like objects (tokens, seals and lead tiles) were unearthed, dating from the 3rd to the 18th century CE. In this preliminary study we analyze medieval and modern coins, in order to start understanding the economy of the city of Cervia in this historical period.
