Raccontare la storia, tra didattica e educazione interculturale : per una scelta e un uso consapevole del manuale di storia

Starting from surveys carried out in recent years by the “International Centre for the Didactics of History and Heritage (DiPaSt)” of University of Bologna, the essay proposes reflections and proposals of useful indicators for choosing a history textbook/textbook from an intercultural education perspective. The choice of the tool places the teacher in front of the use to be made of it and of the history didactics that will be adopted, which will be able to lead and stimulate pupils in the construction of historical knowledge and undistorted visions of the past, present and future. In this regard, therefore, it is indispensable that at the basis of the design and implementation of the teaching/learning process is a reflection on the use that will be made of the manual, so that it is as useful and correct as possible. For all its potential and the dangers it may incur, the handbook is truly a powerful tool with which to learn about reality and history, and for this reason it should not be underestimated, but adopted in the best possible way.

A partire da indagini realizzate negli ultimi anni dal “Centro Internazionale di Didattica della Storia e del Patrimonio (DiPaSt)” dell'Università di Bologna, il saggio propone riflessioni e proposte di indicatori utili per scegliere il manuale/sussidiario di storia in un’ottica di educazione interculturale.La scelta dello strumento pone il docente di fronte all’uso che ne farà e della didattica della storia che sarà adottata, che sia in grado di condurre e stimolare gli alunni nella costruzione di conoscenze storiche e di visioni non distorte del passato, del presente e del futuro. Al riguardo, dunque, risulta indispensabile che alla base della progettazione e dell’attuazione del processo di insegnamento/apprendimento vi sia una riflessione sull’uso che sarà fatto del manuale, perché esso sia quanto più utile e corretto. Per le potenzialità e i pericoli in cui si può incorrere, il sussidiario si pone veramente come uno strumento potente con cui conoscere la realtà e la Storia e per questo non va sottovalutato, ma adottato nel migliore dei modi.
