We have read with great interest the manuscript “Beverage consumption and facial skin aging: Evidence from Mendelian randomization analysis.” by Liu X and coworkers and we considered it important in relation to the effects that drinking habits have on aging. This Mendelian randomization analysis found that higher coffee consumption is significantly associated with a reduced risk of facial skin aging. These findings can offer novel strategies for identifying the underlying etiology of facial skin aging.

Abstract

We have read with great interest the manuscript “Beverage consumption and facial skin aging: Evidence from Mendelian randomization analysis.” by Liu X and coworkers and we considered it important in relation to the effects that drinking habits have on aging. This Mendelian randomization analysis found that higher coffee consumption is significantly associated with a reduced risk of facial skin aging. These findings can offer novel strategies for identifying the underlying etiology of facial skin aging.
