This article presents the manuscript witnesses of Brito's work, in both versions, discussing its authenticity, and explaining its historical context, placing it in the tradition of the commentaries on Boethius' Liber divisionum and in relation to other works by the same author, focusing on three topics: the relation whole-parts, the division of a genus in species, and lexical ambiguity.
